Man Utd eyeing deal for Eintracht star Nathaniel Brown

According to journalist Florian PlettenbergManchester United are keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown, who is set to leave at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old had his big break at Frankfurt last season and recently made his debut for the German national team. His progress has attracted the attention of Europe’s elite clubs Plettenberg claims Man United are among those monitoring his situation.

The Red Devils are not alone in the race, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested. Frankfurt are 100% convinced that Brown will leave the club next summer. Sporting director Markus Krösche is said to demand between £53 and 62 million for the highly rated full-back.

United had Patrick Dorgu or Diogo Dalot occupy the left wing-back position during the first half of the season. Dorgu was manager Ruben Amorim’s first choice, but has come under a lot of criticism recently. Amorim recently said he worries when Dorgu has possession of the ball and believes the Dane performs much better when playing for the Danish national team.

Dalot has replaced Dorgu several times, but the Portuguese is mainly right-footed and struggles with his positioning. This could prompt the Red Devils board to invest in a new option next summer. Brown would be a quality signing as he can both contribute goals and provide stability at the back with crucial defensive involvement.

In the current season, the German has registered 1 goal and 3 assists in 18 appearances at club level. He was also solid defensively Won 4 duels and 2 tackles in addition to 3 recoveries. He could provide the perfect balance between attack and defense for the Red Devils, and it remains to be seen whether United enter a bidding war with Madrid and Barcelona.

For now, Amorim could consider the option of playing Luke Shaw in the left-back role, as Lisandro Martinez is back to full fitness and could soon start on the left side of the back three. Shaw has been prone to injuries in the past when playing on the left side of defence, but the manager has hinted that he is a possible solution this season.
