Manchester United are reportedly ‘keen’ to sign Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson, according to transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.
After poor performances in the Premier League last season, the Red Devils have shown signs of improvement this season under Ruben Amorim, finishing just one point behind fourth place.
However, United looked like a completely different team at home than away. In five league games at Old Trafford, Amorim’s side have won four games and conceded just six goals. But they have collected just six points from as many games away from home, conceding 12 goals in the process.
Meanwhile, Man Utd have begun their rebuild under Amorim by revamping their attacking department last summer and apparently plan to focus on building a strong midfield department next year.
On X, Plettenberg states that Man Utd are ‘keen’ to sign Anderson and have already informed Sean Dyche’s side of their wish. The 23-year-old has four years left on his current contract, and Forest are willing to demand up to £120million to let their star man leave.
Plettenberg wrote:
“Understand that Manchester United remain interested in Elliot Anderson and have shown a concrete interest. Forest have been informed. A fee of between £100m and £120m is still being sought.”

Amorim uses a 3-4-2-1 formation and needs dynamic midfielders to run its system as they have to cover a lot of ground without possession.
However, neither Casemiro nor Kobbie Mainoo seem suitable for this role. Although the Brazilian has played regularly this season, the 33-year-old has lost some of his athleticism and is unlikely to be a long-term option.
On the other hand, Mainoo remained on the periphery this season. Manuel Ugarte is another option Man Utd have for midfield, but he has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League.
Anderson has shown impressive performances this season and is a technically gifted player with speed over the ground. He has the necessary attributes to thrive in any elite team across Europe.
He has even secured his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England national team after recent standout performances. Therefore, the Englishman would be a great move for the Old Trafford club if they ultimately manage to secure his service in January or next summer.
