Tonali, who joined Newcastle from AC Milan in 2023 on a £55m contract, has re-established himself as a key figure at St James’ Park after a difficult first season in England. Rossi did not suggest that Tonali should leave Newcastle immediately, but his comments have inevitably fueled speculation that the midfielder has been linked with a number of Premier League heavyweights.
Reports suggest that Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are all monitoring Tonali’s situation. It is believed that each club is assessing midfield reinforcements ahead of the upcoming transfer windows.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to add depth and technical quality to his midfield as the club continues to aim for big trophies. Tonali’s ball-winning ability and passing range could fit well within the Gunners’ possession-oriented system.
