A Waukegan -man accused of hiding the death of an antioch woman in April was arrested by American immigration and customs enforcement officers during the weekend in Chicago.

Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez, 52, was taken by Ice Officers on Saturday by Ice Officers, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

At the time of his arrest, Mendoza-Gonzalez, an immigrant from Mexico, waited for his next judicial appearance in connection with the death of the 37-year-old Megan Bos. He was accused of hiding a death, abuse of a corpse and the impediment of justice.

Mendoza-Gonzalez was in that case on April 12, two days after his first arrest on 12 April. A judge ordered him to be released in anticipation of the trial.

Bos was missing on March 9. She was known for spending time in the areas Antioch and Waukegan.

On April 10, Antioch police went into a Waukegan company to speak with Mendoza-Gonzalez, a person of interest who had frequent contact with Bos, said the Waukegan police.

Mendoza-Gonzalez told officers for the first time that Bos had visited his house in the 700 block of Yeoman Street on 19 February, but had left.

After further interrogation, Mendoza-Gonzalez finally told detectives that Bos inhaled in his house on 19 February. He told investigators that Bos had asked if she could stay in his basement and he agreed. He went to another part of the house to repair a leaking pipe, and when he returned to the basement, he found Bos dead, the police said.

Mendoza-Gonzalez told investigators that he believed that Bos had had an overdose. He said he was afraid to get into trouble and left the body of Bos in the basement for a few days.

He eventually moved her body to a container in his garden, the police said.

Mendoza-Gonzalez said he broke the phone from Bos the day after the alleged overdose and threw it in the trash. When asked what he intended to do with her body, he told investigators he didn’t know.

A search order was obtained and the police found the body of forest in a container on the ownership of Mendoza-Gonzalez, the police said. An autopsy determined that there were no signs of any trauma or a struggle of her body
