Make America Grate Again: Trump vs. MTG in epic MAGA maelstrom after she tries to mutilate H1b visas – The Times of India

WASHINGTON: MAGA supremo Donald Trump on Friday outed a former loyalist lawmaker after she broke ranks and rebelled over a range of issues, including introducing a bill to abolish the H1b visa program. In growing signs of major rifts and emerging rebellion in the MAGA movement, Republican congresswoman and conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene, often referred to as MTG, lashed out at the party supremo after he called her “crazy,” accused her of going far left and threatened to end her political career. Among the issues MTG is tormenting Trump is demanding the release of the Epstein files that his critics believe implicates him, and challenging the president’s commitment to the “America First” credo after he defended the need for foreign workers and foreign students in a U.S. that he claims is in short supply of tech talent. “Maybe it was my bill to eliminate H1B visas,” the Georgia lawmaker, long a right-wing rabble-rouser, posted to X in a guess as to why Trump is torching her political career. The bigger reason seems to be that she is cheating on the Epstein files, which she and a growing group of MAGA lawmakers want to release even if they implicate Trump. “It’s amazing how hard he’s fighting to keep the Epstein files from coming out and actually going to this level,” MTG said, responding to Trump’s accusation that she had harassed him with phone calls. She claimed the president lied, saying she only sent him text messages requesting the release of the Epstein files and “this is what drove him over the edge.”“And of course he’s coming hard after me to set an example to scare all the other Republicans before voting next weeks to release the Epstein files,” she said in a defiant post on X.“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of wealthy, powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” she added Saturday morning amid signs of a rebellion from parts of MAGA, including several lawmakers disenchanted with a range of Trump policies, including tariffs, that they say are causing discontent at the grassroots. An angry Trump previously railed against MTG and another mutinous Republican lawmaker, Thomas Massie, threatening to let them become “primary” (defeated by challengers in elections within the party), and making personal attacks. “Is Thomas Massie married yet??? Boy, that was fast! Anyway, have a great life Thomas and (?) His wife will soon find out she’s with a LOSER!” the US president posted on his platform. Massie lost his wife of 31 years to breast cancer last June and remarried earlier this month. The snide contempt is typical of MAGA catfights, where some of the mutually antagonistic divas like MTG, Laura Loomer and Candace Owens have thrashed each other with accusations of adultery and infidelity, mental instability and ideological betrayal, and generally dragged politics into the gutter after fighting for the supremo’s attention and affection. It is widely believed that Loomer, a social media gadabout, currently has the president’s ear to the extent that she can make or break careers in Washington DC.The circular fire that makes America GRATE again includes Loomer calling MTG a “jealous bitch with roid rage” and a “washed up witch”, and MTG responding by calling Loomer “mentally unstable and a documented liar”.
