Mikel Arteta revealed that Noni Madueke was “stripped” after contracting a knee injury during their Premier League collision against Manchester City.
The wing player was replaced during the rest during the 1-1 draw of Arsenal with the city, while the Gunners saved a point through a stop time equalizer from Gabriel Martinelli.
Madueke still has to register a direct target involvement in six competitive matches for Arsenal, but has shown a lot of promise during the time -out of Bukayo Saka due to a hamstring problem.
The international of England will come out “a few weeks” and see him miss the start of the EFL Cup campaign by Arsenal.
Reports about Madueke’s injury suggested that he could miss up to two months of action, but when he was asked if it was a matter of weeks instead of months, Arteta replied: “We hope so.
“It seems that he will be gone for a few weeks. We don’t know yet, we will probably have to scan him again next week.
“He felt something at the start of the game, he tried to continue, and during the break he was too painful, so let’s look.
“He was clearly stripped. Very disappointing to see because he was in such a good condition.
“He looked like a real threat; he got some consistency, some power in the team and he looked like a real threat, so it’s a big miss for us.”

Arsenal is opposed to Porto Vale in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
The Gunners are claimed from 17 of their last 18 EFL Cup tires against parties of the third or fourth layers of English football and only failed in the quarterfinals of 2012-2013 when they lost a penalty shootout to League Two Bradford City.
Port Vale is advanced from only one of the 13 earlier League Cup tires against top-flight opponents and Nietts County defeated through the rule of road rule over two legs in the second round of 1991-92.
Arteta is ready to make various changes from the side opposite the city, with Kepa Arrizabalaga in line to make his competitive debut for the Gunners.
“Yes, they are many players who will participate, and they deserve the minutes completely,” said Arteta.
“Kepa is certainly one of them. He has been to us, his attitude, the way he supports us in every aspect of his role in the best possible way.
“They also earn more minutes than what they get.”
