The main suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has been released from prison in Germany – and immediately went to McDonald’s. Convicted pedophile Christian Brueckner had broadcast a seven -year prison sentence in 2005 for the rape of an older woman in her house in Praia da Luz in 2005.

“If he violates these conditions, he is confronted with a fine or a prison sentence of a maximum of three years.”
Mr. Wolters added: “The release of Christian B has no direct influence on the McCann case.”
Brueckner is not charged in the case, in which he is investigated on suspicion of murder.
He has previously denied any involvement in her disappearance.
Madeleine disappeared in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz in 2007, shortly after she stayed asleep by her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, who went to eat in a nearby restaurant.
Despite his release, the authorities say that he is still dangerous, according to a recent psychiatric report that concluded that he will probably commit further crimes after he had not undergone in custody according to reports.
With police commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said that the British investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine remains an investigation into a missing person.
He said journalists that the armed forces “take up the balance” of the German and Portuguese investigations now that the main suspect Brueckner has run free of prison.
“He remains a suspect for us. We make the balance of where we are, and the German research and the Portuguese research,” said Sir Mark.
A number of searches have been carried out by the German, Portuguese and British authorities since the disappearance of Madeleine – with last place near the Portuguese municipality of Lagos in June.
In 2023, researchers carried out searches near the Arade Reserve Dam, about 30 miles from Praia da Luz.
Brueckner spent time in the area between 2000 and 2017 and had photos and videos of himself near the reservoir.
