A French high school student was arrested after killing a classmate and the injury of three others during a stabbing spree.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon at the Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides High School in the northwestern French city of Nantes.
The answer was praised by French President Emmanuel Macron, who said that teachers have tackled the armed student and have prevented more massacre.
“Because of their intervention, the teachers probably have prevented other tragedies. Their courage demands respect,” Mr. Macron wrote on X.
The alleged attacker was later arrested by the police.
France has been shocked in recent years by a series of school incidents with attacks on teachers and school children by their colleagues.

Police to make random searches
Concerned parents gathered outside the school, who had already been dropped off by the police who, with French soldiers, guarded the site.
Ludivine, 48, said she had learned that the attack in her daughter’s class had happened.
“As a fearful mother who doesn’t leave her alone, I never thought something would happen to her at her school,” she said.

Minister of French Education Elisabeth Borne and Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleeau later arrived on the spot.
“A knife attack took place today during lunch at a private school in Nantes,” Mrs Borne posted earlier on X.
“I travel to the scene with @brunoretailleau to express my solidarity with the victims and my support to the educational community,” she added.
Worn in February said that the police would start random searches for knives and other weapons that are hidden in bags on and around schools in an attempt to tackle an increase in violent attacks.
