Dave McCarthy: “So I’m getting the sense that folks in new jersey are concerned, if not agitated, with tom fitzgerald these days and the devils ‘inability to get luke heghes’ name on a contract. Now, there of Alwayple, There’s Alwayple Into the off-season, and if not miss a couple of days of camp, or just in Willie Nylander’s case, a few years ago, missed some of the regular season.
Five teams that stand in the way of a ThreEeat from Florida Panthers
There are always a few boys from entry level who are RFA. Luke Hughes made himself a real, real quality player. What is your understanding of where their negotiations are currently? Do they see in the long term? Do they see in the short term? Where is your understanding of where these negotiations are? “
Dave Pagnotta: “Well, I mean, they have absolutely discussed both scenarios. Both options in terms of long versus taking a bridge type contract that improves. And I think he is 21 with the way the salary limit goes, a shorter term deal to hold him within the RFA status, but we will see the way to go.
We know that his brother clearly signed a long -term deal for his last. But many boys take the bridge agreement from access before they decide to commit in the long term so that he could go that direction. But I don’t think, although, and he is not eligible for an offering magazine, I don’t think there is a concern about real, both sides that they are unable to get something done by the time the camp passes into a bit, what, two weeks, two, three weeks. So it is clear that it is a priority.
It is clear that the summer has generally not been as active as we have led to believe. And perhaps, and that is a completely different discussion, possible look worms for many fans not to see the activity in the summer. But look, I think the devils understand what their options are. I think Luke and his agent, Pat Brisson and the guys from CAA understand where they are. And it is clear that the goal is to ensure that it is ready and ready to go for camp.
The Hockey World Cup could see expansion in the coming years
We spoke to the European Media Player Tour that we talked about the two brothers with Nico Heiscer and what they mean for the team. And clearly Luke is a big one, a large part of the future of that team, but I think there is trust that they will get things done across the board. It is now just a matter of a kind of starving and pushing to push.
Everyone likes to work with a deadline. And now, once we come through Labor Day, I think we will see some positivity in that respect for Devils fans who are understandably frustrated in that respect this summer. “
McCarthy: “Yes, I mean, it’s one of those things where the old saying deadlines are, produce deals, and there really is no turning point at the end of July to get a deal. Until the success of this specific season for their group.
So we will see how it is going on. But one thing is certain, Luke Hughes has shown that he is a man who is a large part of that group that is moving forward, and I think he will be in the mix. “
