Luka Vskovic tipped to leave Tottenham in the summer

Tottenham defender Luka Vskovic is currently on loan at Hamburg and he has done exceptionally well for the German club.

The 18-year-old is currently regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe, and Munich are interested in signing the player.

Former Tottenham player Ramon Vega believes the 18-year-old defender is unlikely to return to Tottenham and could leave the club without having played a single senior game.

Vega on Luka Vuskovic’s future

Former Tottenham defender Ramon Vega tweeted: “This player is not coming back to Spurs!

“Another one of many players Spurs had a chance with but they made the wrong decision.

“This is an example of the problem Spurs have within their football department! A total neglect.

“They will certainly earn good money, but there is no football direction within the club. Off to Bayern he goes, no wonder I don’t blame him.”

Vuskovic leaves?

It will be interesting to see if Bayern Munich are willing to make an offer to sign the player this summer. There is no doubt that he is an exceptional talent with a bright future, and that he could develop into a world-class player. He could be tempted to make the move to an elite club in the summer.

However, he needs to join a club where he can play a prominent role. Sitting on the bench at a big club would be detrimental to his development.

If the German champions can or promise him opportunities on a regular basis, there is no point in the young defender joining them. The Croatian needs to play every week to fulfill his potential. Tottenham can offer him that opportunity, especially with Cristian Romero expected to leave in the summer.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. It would be a huge disappointment for Tottenham if they lose the 18-year-old defender this summer.
