Luis Enrique is ready to fend off interest from Manchester United

Luis Enrique is ready to snub Manchester United and sign a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Enrique has a contract with PSG until 2027 and the European champions are keen to agree an extension with the Spaniard.

The 55-year-old has been in charge of PSG since 2023 and led the Parisians to a quadruple success last season. That victory included a first Champions League crown for the French club, who secured a record-breaking 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final.

Premier League clubs are paying attention to Enrique’s situation as he approaches the final season of his contract.

Manchester United have made him a top target as the club considers a permanent successor to Ruben Amorim. Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with him as Thomas Frank struggles for results in north London.

However, The mirror report that Enrique is ‘not convinced by the project’ at Manchester United, while he would like a new side to compete in the Champions League if he were to leave PSG. The Red Devils are currently fourth in the table and chasing a place in next season’s competition.

Michael Carrick is currently in interim management at Manchester United and secured the fourth consecutive league victory against Spurs on Saturday. It is the first time since February 2024 that United have won four games in a row in the Premier League.
