Mark Feinsand of MLB Network reports this that Arraez has received multiple offers from interested teams, including one- and multi-year contracts. Feinsand also reported that Arraez prefers to return to second base, which could be the “determining factor” in his decision.
One of the most polarizing players in baseball, Arraez is a throwback type of player. A three-time All-Star, Arraez won three straight batting titles from 2022 through 2024 and led the National League in hits the past two seasons. He posted a .292/.317/.392 batting line in his 675 plate appearances, hitting eight home runs and 30 doubles.
Luis Arraez can help a Major League team in the right situation
Arraez’s performance in 2025 also shows his limitations. He makes a lot of contact, struck out only 21 times, but also walked only 34. Arraez had a lot of weak contact and ranked in the first percentile for heavy hits (16.7%) and barrels (1.1%) and in the sixth percentile for average exit velocity (80.1 mph).
Arraez is also limited defensively. He is believed to have cost his team six runs during his time at second but is primarily considered a better defensive option. The problem is that his offensive ceiling doesn’t fit well in a traditional power spot in the lineup.
Despite these flaws, Arraez can be useful in the right fit. Teams that value contact, or need a steady option in the lineup, can appreciate what Arraez has to offer. Multiple teams could be eligible. It could be a matter of which of those options Arraez wants to return to his favorite defensive home at second base.
