Oceanport, NJ – It’s easy to see why trainer Miguel Clement has been so enthusiastic – and frustrated – tries to find a race Love Appeals.
The 5-year-old mare, who made her first start for the son of the late Christophe Clement, gathered from Off to Tempo to pass two horses and then stopped two to win the incredible revenge reinforcements on Sunday in Monmouth Park with one length for the second consecutive year.
With only one race since December 14 (a fourth place in the license fee in Aqueduct on May 4), the SPEIGHTSTOWN daughter, bred by Kentucky, has been on Go, “Clement said.
The winning time for the 5½ Furlongs about a solid peat course was 1: 02.62.
“We tried to run her several times and we were unlucky,” said Clement. “Strangles broke out several times in New York, so we were very unfortunate not to be able to run her. It was nothing against the filly. She has been training well for a while. She is training very well. If you look at her work at Belmont, she has been in Go for a while.”
With Longshot Etrurian and quiet trust in the early fractures, Jockey Samy Camacho had placed love messages in third place. Those two took the scratch, reduced the six-man field of mares and mares to the middle before Love Appeals moved to the middle of the track.
She passed both late and then held the charges of the second place of Great Venezuela Buiten and Difaros, which was three -quarters of a length further back after charging the inside.
Love Appeals paid $ 8.60 to win.
“The only instructions that Miguel Clement gave was trying to break close to the pace,” said Camacho. “So when she broke well as she did, I didn’t have to worry because she was very close to the pace, so the only thing I had to do was be patient and make the move at the right time. When they started pushing the pace, I started asking her and went to the quarterly post.
“I was really in the right place with her. When I saw two horses in front, and I was third and I am clear that I said:” I think it’s over. I just hope that no one will come from behind. ”
Love Appeals also won the incredible revenge stakes with a length, although the 2024 version was on five furlongs.
Now with six wins from 16 career-start, Love Appeals improved to a 6-1-3 line of 13 lifetime grass. This marked her third effort and her third victory in four starts in Monmouth Park.
“For many reasons, this is a very rewarding victory, the most important thing is that (owner and breeder) moyglare Stud Farm had been one of my father’s most prominent owners for many years,” Clement said. “They are very loyal and large supporters and ambassadors for the sport. So it is very useful.”
Clement praised the ride that Camacho gave her.
“I don’t think she should be that far from the pace. Today she stalked,” said Clement. “Maybe during her comeback race we gave her too much to do and she was too far back. Today she was in the race and she got a great ride from Samy Camacho. He held her engaged and showed the nice turn she has in the race.
“She is a handsome mandriage, she is play, she is cool and she is easy to train.”
