Driver Chris Long had a grand slam in harness racing, including a victory with Quarrel (Always B Miki) in the $7,500 recommended filly and mare pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov. 14).

Unusual Clarity (Ron Harp) went straight to the front and led the quarter at:27.3. She used a second quarter of :29.2 to reach the half first in :57.0. Quarrel ($3.96) made her move first on the final turn and led through three quarters in 1:25.3.

As they reached third place, Unusual Clarity and Little Instigator (Leon Bailey) battled Quarrel in second place. Quarrel got a late start and won in 1:54.2.

Quarrel is a 6 year old mare from Always B Miki. She is owned by Karma Racing and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her seventh victory this season. She now has 23 career wins.

Long’s other wins came at Arsenal’s Ladybug, Premier Delainey and Parousia. Leon Bailey rode three winners and has a three lead over Long heading into the final evening. Trainer Gary Gibson has three winners on the card and is tied with Michelle Warner with 38 wins apiece. David Dewhurst is just one heading into tomorrow.

Capt Jack Hanover is the 2025 Pacer of the Year at Vernon Downs. He is a 7 year old gelding by Captaintreacherous. He is owned by Michael Kessler, Speed ​​To Burn Racing and trainer MacDonald. In 17 starts at the Miracle Mile, he recorded seven wins, five seconds and two thirds.
