Liverpool target breathola lookman hands hands in transfer request

LIVERPOOL Target breathola lookman has submitted a transfer request to Atalanta and has hit the club for treating him ‘bad’ and led him on ‘many months of broken promises’.

The 27-year-old attacker came to Atalanta of RB Leipzig in 2022 and scored 52 goals in 117 performances for the Italian outfit in all competitions, and settled firmly as one of the best attackers in Europe.

There are two more years left on LOOKMAN’s current contract in Bergamo, but it seems that the attacker has made a decision and is planning to leave for the transfer period.

In a long explanation on his social media pages, Lookman said that he really regretted that he had to take such a drastic action after an ‘extremely difficult’ period in his career

‘In the past three years at Atalanta I have given absolutely everything. Not only as a football player, but as a person. I have always proudly worn the shirt and tried to represent this club and the city of Bergamo with heart, passion and dedication, “he wrote.

‘I came here to help this special club grow here and together we created memories that will stay with me forever. Winning the Europa League and standing shoulder to shoulder with my teammates that evening in Dublin who celebrate with our fans was one of the most proud moments of my career to date. It still gives me goose bumps that think about it.

‘Atalanta, and especially the supporters, have become part of me. This place felt like home from the moment I arrived and I always tried to repay that love – even in times when things behind the scenes have not been easy.

“That is what makes writing this so difficult. I loved every moment, but feel that after three wonderful years it is the right time in Bergamo to continue and experience a new adventure. ‘

According to Lookman, Atalanta remains hostage, despite receiving a suitable bid from a potential freer this summer.

‘Countless clubs have been approached in the past and I have always remained loyal. I and the ownership of the club, however, agree that it is now the right time and that the club was clear to me that if an honest offer came in, they would allow me to move, “he added.

‘Despite the fact that he now receives an offer in coordination with what I think the club has unfortunately been discussed, the club blocks the chance for reasons I don’t understand.

“As a result and after many months of broken promises and what I think a bad treatment against me has been if both a person and as a professional football player, I unfortunately have the feeling that I have no choice but to express what I think is good and I think enough is enough.”

Lookman continued: ‘I can confirm that I have now submitted a formal transfer request.

‘Even during the extremely difficult moments that I have endured, many of which have remained private and confidential, I have always tried to post the club, the fans and the team first and hoped that it would not come up here, but unfortunately I have the feeling that there is little choice now.

‘To the fans – the heartbeat of this club – I want to say this: I am really sorry that it came to do so. I hope you can understand this incredibly difficult situation. It’s just about standing up for what I believe is that honest and right. The support you have always given me is incredible and the band we have made together is special.
