Here’s a round-up of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfers from icfootballnews including Marc Guehi, Mohamed Salah and Ben White that you might have missed…

It is claimed that Mohamed Salah will remain at Liverpool this January transfer window, but his situation is still one to monitor as there could be some shock move.

The Egypt international was linked with a move away following a media outburst, but those ties have since died down following his involvement in AFCON in recent weeks where he impressed.

But rumors that he could still leave this January have returned to the media, with many reports suggesting Salah may now be interested in a move to Saudi Arabia.

But The Athletics report that Mohamed Salah will stay LIVERPOOL this January transfer window

Elsewhere, the report claims that summer activity will focus on a centre-back, with no breakthrough in Ibrahima Konate’s deal, while no right-back is planned following the loss of Conor Bradley to injury.

It comes after Liverpool legend John Barnes explained why he doesn’t believe his former club needs to make any signings in the January transfer window: “No – the solution to Liverpool’s problems is not to sign players,” the former England international, who scored 108 goals and scored a further 99 goals in 407 appearances for Liverpool. Anfieldtold the ECHO via Covers.com Betting on the World Cup team.

“They spent over £400 million in the summer and haven’t improved. If you sign more players in January and see no improvement, what happens at the end of the season: do you sign more players?”

“You have to work with what you have. The players that Arne Slot already has available are good enough.

LIVERPOOL Last summer we made some big purchases, and I’m not saying they didn’t work out. You have to give new players time to blend in, and some are injured now.

“I’m not a fan of signing players in January because at this time of the season you won’t buy the players you want, you won’t be able to get the best players. Liverpool don’t need any signings this month.”

GUEHI HAS WAGE DEMANDS

Today it is being claimed in the media that Liverpool goalkeeper Marc Guehi will be looking to earn wages of around £200,000 per week if he ultimately decides to leave Crystal Palace for his next club.

Guehi, who will become a free agent at the end of the season, was linked with a move to Manchester City in January. LIVERPOOLArsenal and Bayern Munich for his performances in that Palace shirt in recent transfer windows.

The Reds remain interested in the England international after missing out on Guehi last summer. but as reported by the ECHO last weekthey will concentrate their efforts on convincing the player to move when his contract expires at the end of the season.

However, media reports this week claim that Guehi will be looking for a wage of around £200,000 per week when he begins negotiating his departure from Palace in January or at the end of the season.

The news comes after Fabrizio Romano claimed Guehi would rather leave Palace at the end of the season than in January: LIVERPOOL really pushing and Arsenal calling because Arteta is a big fan. Bavaria [Munich] also had some meetings for Guehi, but now [Dayot] Upamecano is expected to sign a new contract.

“Manchester City can be clear. They want Guehi, they want to make an important proposal and want to be strong in January and will try next week.”

“If the player decides to agree, Man City is willing to make an agreement with Crystal Palace.

‘They don’t see any problems with that, but it depends on the player and his plan has always been to move in the summer. So let’s see what happens, but Marc Guehi’s story definitely remains alive.”

IcFootballnews says…

In today’s market, €200,000 a week isn’t a lot of money, especially as the big clubs wouldn’t pay much of a transfer fee for Guehi at the end of the season.

WHITE IS GOING TO MOVE?

Ben White would jump at the chance to join Liverpool from Arsenal as the Reds look to strengthen their defense in the January transfer window, according to Danny Murphy.

The versatile defender has played a crucial role in the Gunners’ development under Mikel Arteta, but has been reduced to a bit-part role over the past 18 months.

That has led to media speculation that he could be a player to leave the Emirates, and White has been linked with a move to Everton in the past 24 hours, but reports suggest Arsenal are unwilling to sell.

But – amid that speculation – Murphy believes the player could force the hand of his clubs LIVERPOOL to register interest – he said BoyleSport: ‘Ben White to Liverpool would make sense, but Arsenal may not want to sell to a rival.

“It would depend on how adamant the player is that he wants to go. If Ben White was an option, I think that would be a good option for Liverpool.

‘I think he’s a very good footballer, he’s a big boy. Yes, he has had some injury problems recently, but he is an experienced man, he has played a lot of games and can play at center back or right back.

‘The obvious good thing for Liverpool would be in those negotiations, if that were to become a thing, it would be that every player would rather go to Liverpool than to Everton. I don’t say that because I’m red. I say that because Liverpool are fighting for the Champions League, you know, still in the top four, still in the FA Cup.

‘While Everton are clearly out of the FA Cup, they do not participate in European competitions.

‘I don’t know why LIVERPOOL I would find it strange to think that Arsenal would let him go. Or maybe they think they’re too far ahead of Liverpool, so we’ll have to see how that works out.”
