Liverpool are preparing to make a formal bid to sign Camavinga

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to submit a formal proposal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to Spanish newspaper Transfers.

After winning the Premier League title last season, the Reds spent a lot of money in the last transfer window to refresh the squad and maintain its standard.

The Merseysiders actually got off to a good start this season, winning their first six games in all competitions. However, they failed to maintain the momentum and lost the next six out of seven matches in all tournaments.

Fortunately, Slot’s side returned to winning ways by beating Aston Villa in the Premier League last weekend. As a result, they have climbed to third position with 18 points from 10 games, seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

Now Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday before taking on Manchester City in the competition next weekend. So there’s a tough run of games ahead for the Reds before the international break.

In the meantime, the winter transfer period is fast approaching Transfers report that despite spending a lot of money last summer, Liverpool are ready to invest again in January.

Camavinga to Liverpool

The Merseyside club is willing to strengthen its midfield and has identified Camavinga as a serious target. They are even ‘preparing’ to launch a formal proposal worth around £52 million to complete the deal, while his existing deal runs until 2029.

Real Madrid ideally do not want to part with him, but they could change their position if they receive a lucrative offer and are willing to accept around £70 million.

Liverpool are ‘confident’ they will be able to convince him to join in the upcoming winter window as the player has struggled to find regular playing time this season and has made just two appearances in all competitions so far.

Camavinga is considered one of the most talented young midfielders in the world and has already won every major trophy possible at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

So the 22-year-old would be a big step forward for Liverpool if they eventually manage to lure him to Anfield in the winter window.
