It seems that Liv Golf is not going to go somewhere.
The tour is in the third year of operation and nowadays runs on all kinds of successes. At the time of this writing they play in Spain and are broadcast on FS1 in their own country, securing a television contract from that variety was only a challenge with which they were confronted when they were getting off the ground a few years ago.
Liv has different details than the PGA Tour and the ultimate collection meals from my perspective is that this is good. 54 holes playing, having teams, using a shotgun start … otherwise it is not necessary. Otherwise that is exactly, different.
Ultimately, these ‘differences’ Liv apparently did not allowed to achieve something that they have long searched … Official status within the official world golf ranking. OWGR is the point system that determines how players are generally arranged all over the world. These rankings have long served as the formula for invitations for large championships and things of such, so Liv has not seen their players fall dramatically and have to find alternative paths in that kind of events.
It seems that LIV is again trying to determine an OWGR DESCRIPTION, as the entity that announced on Friday that LIV applied again.
Inclusion for Liv in the OWGR, to be honest, would be one of the biggest things that would ever happen in the world of professional wave of men. Setting up OWGR points for LIV would offer points for players on the Tour and therefore legitimize it in a way that has happened since this entire Saga began. We are past the point of people who use OWGR for conversation purposes (remember that Jon Rahm is mentioned on 68, for example, and there is no “world” where this is the case), but in practical matters they serve as the line in the sand.
Back at the point that we started this conversation with … This also suggests that Liv is not going anywhere. The word of a hanging merger now broke more than a year ago, but the details remain as unknown as then. It would be assumed that if a merger was on the horizon, Liv would not feel the need to follow this route. Perhaps it is part of a merger. Who knows at the moment.
Anyway, this is a different turn in professional wave. Time will learn it.
