No one’s star in Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki’s sky shines brighter than Salahdine Parnasse’s.The Atch Academy ace defeated Marcin Held with punches to retain his lightweight championship in the second round of their KSW 114 headliner on Saturday at RCS Hall in Radom, Poland. Held (31-11, 3-2 KSW) succumbed to punches 3:35 into Round 2, suffering his first setback in more than two years.

Parnasse (22-2, 14-2 KSW) was in control for virtually every second of the fight. He dipped into his deep pocket of tricks – the Frenchman even connected with a leaping head kick in the first round – and toyed with Held on the feet and on the ground. Parnasse eventually pinned the Polish grappler to the fence and unleashed a volley of punishing hooks to the body with both hands in the second round. Held collapsed at his feet, where he took a few more punches before referee Aleh Miliakou chose to intervene on his behalf.Meanwhile, Arkadiusz Wrzosek bounced back from his June 14 submission loss to long-standing KSW champion Phil De Fries and did so in resounding fashion as he shorted Szymon Bajor with a perfectly timed knee strike in the second round of their heavyweight co-main event. Bajor (26-13, 4-5 KSW) planted 40 seconds in Round 2.

Wrzosek (7-1, 7-1 KSW) maximized his height and gained advantages with a sustained jab and damaging low kicks. Bajor tried to respond with takedown attempts and repeated clinchs, but had only limited success. Early in the middle stanza, Wrzosek caught Universal’s representative Rzeszow with a crushing knee as he plowed forward. Bajor crashed and burned where he stood. No follow-up shots were necessary. The 6-foot-1 Wrzosek has won six of his seven victories by knockout.

Finally, rising Polish prospect Wiktoria Czyzewska knocked out former Samurai Fight House champion Tamires Vidal with a body kick and follow-up punches in the first round of their women’s bantamweight showcase. Vidal (7-5, 0-1 KSW) clocked in at 4:30 in Round 1.

Czyzewska (6-1, 5-1 KSW) operated behind a powerful jab, front kicks to the body and sharp one-twos. She staggered Vidal with a multi-punch volley, backed him up with a head kick and then hit the Brazilian with a series of knees from the collar. Czyzewska resets and delivers a crippling kick to the right side of her opponent’s ribcage. Vidal winced in pain and retreated to the fence, where she landed a few more punches before the stoppage was called.

The 21-year-old Czyzewska has won five straight.

In other action, an accidental eye poke from Ibragim Chuzhigaev (19-6, 3-1 KSW) stopped Maciej Rozanski (15-6, 1-1 KSW) from advancing in the second round of their 212-pound catchweight encounter; Piotr Kacprzak (13-6, 4-2 KSW) picked up a majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-28) – against Wojciech Kazieczko (6-3, 4-3 KSW) in their three-round featherweight bout; Andi Vrtacic (8-3, 3-1 KSW) defeated Mateusz Gola (6-7, 0-1 KSW) with a head kick at 2:37 of the second round of their middleweight duo; Amaury Wako-Zabo (5-0, 3-0 KSW) earned a unanimous decision – 30-27, 30-27, 30-27 – over Viktor Cervinsky (5-3, 1-3 UFC) in their three-round welterweight tilt; Konrad Rusinksi (7-3, 2-2 KSW) defeated Henry Fadipe (15-13-1, 3-4 KSW) by unanimous decision in their three-round middleweight affair, earning 29-28, 30-26 and 30-27 points from the judges; and Iras Khizriev (5-0, 1-0 KSW) took a unanimous decision – 29-28, 30-27, 29-28 – over Oleksandr Moisa (4-2, 1-1 KSW) in their three-round lightweight match.
