LFA-Legacy Fighting Alliance has long been a platform where emerging contenders and experienced veterans show their skills. At LFA 217, Brazilian flight weight Pedro “The Rock” Nobre (22-9-2, 1 AD) got into Against Mitchell McKee in a fight that the crowd was on the opening of the opening bell.
For two rounds, the arena filled with the sound of sharp exchanges – Nobre pushes ahead behind his hands, McKee understands with counters. The pace was hectic, nor the person who wanted to withdraw from the center. Just past the three minutes of the second round, McKee connected contact with a few hooks that suddenly brought the fight in the neighborhood.
The finish did not erase what came before LFA 217: Nobre’s willingness to meet fire with fire, his stubborn refusal to take a backward step, and the type of grit that has defined his career in UFC, PFL and now LFA. The fans got what they paid for – a collision that was short, furious and impossible to ignore.
In the days that followed, Nobre had time to catch your breath and to think. Speaking with MMA Sucka, he shared thoughts about his nickname, his evolution in sport and what the future can hold back after LFA 217.
Report Note: Answers were provided via written Q&A with Pedro Nobre in September 2025.
1. LFA 217: Nobre about being well completed
Q: You have earned victories by knockout, entry and decision. Do you see yourself as a well -completed hunter, or is there an area where you feel most at home?
Peter Nobre: “Yes, I love striking and I am a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, I feel comfortable in both situations, which I don’t like is to use strength to take the fight down.”
Nobre’s CV reflects that balance – he is dangerous with his hands, comfortable on the mat, and not afraid to let the fight play wherever it goes.
2. LFA 217: The meaning behind “The Rock”
Q: What does the nickname “The Rock” mean for you personally? Does it reflect your style, your mentality or something else?
Peter Nobre: “Yes, when I was younger, I was very cool, I was a real rock, I sparkled with all the weights and did not go back, so they said I was very tough and eventually I became the rock when I had my first professional fight.”
It is a name that is stuck – and one that still reflects the resilience that fans saw on LFA 217, when Nobre refused to withdraw, even while the younger hunter pushed forward.
3. LFA 217: Evolution of Brazilian MMA
Q: Since the start you have been part of Brazilian MMA. How did you see the sport evolve in Brazil, and what fascinates the most about the next generation that is coming?
Peter Nobre: “Yes, it used to be much more difficult, nowadays there are numerous events to fight, if the young person focuses, he can perform very well in the fight. What excites me is that Jiu-Jitsu is growing more and more, perhaps MMA will become a style for people to do after their career in Jiu-Jitsu, just to be in the past and not to be.”
