Bayer Leverkusen and Crystal Palace have added Manchester City Center-Back Manuel Akanji to their shortlist of transfer options.
Leverkusen is considering replacements for Piero Hincapie, who wants to leave the German side and the subject of Arsenal’s interest. The North London side is negotiating a deal in the region of € 60 million.
Akanji is an option to replace hincapie because he was told that he is free this summer to leave Manchester City. He was omitted from the Manchester City team for Saturday’s defeat against Tottenham while speculation around his future continues.
Galatasaray has agreed a £ 15 million deal to sign the Switzerland -International, but the player still has to give his approval to the move.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Leverkusen is looking for capitalization. Akanji has previous experience with German football and has made 158 performances in a five -year spell, a Borussia Dortmund.
The 30-year-old is reportedly also on the radar of Crystal Palace. The Eagles is expected to lose Marc Guehi before Monday’s transfer deadline with Liverpool who pushes to close a deal. Akanji is seen as an experienced Premier League proven replacement for the English international.
