Is the intention of Op-Ed
To discourage voters?
Re: “Passing the redistribution plan will be uphill, battle for the governor” (page A16, August 31).
I am not sure what the point of the opinion piece of Larry Gerston told us that passing the redistribution ballotat will be a tough fight. The voters know that because Gov. Newsom itself told us every day.
So, instead tried to discourage us instead of even trying to pass on the redistribution plan? Was that his real goal?

This is not time
To solve the oil industry
As a resident of Contra Costa CountyI am very worried about the “Drill Baby Drill” from Gov. Newsom plan Now get a grip with legislators. Fossil fuel companies bullying California with a manufactured crisis. Everyone knows that we have to switch oil and gas to prevent catastrophic climate change. Although hard-working Californians are indeed confronted with serious affordability problems, giving hand-outs to the oil industry will not tackle it. What it will do is allow a dying industry to cause immeasurable damage on its way out the door, causing our health, water, wildlife and climate animals.
Instead of proposing to accelerate more oil drilling or return protection by pollution of the oil industry, our governor and legislators must find other ways to minimize consequences for residents, employees and communities from our transition to renewable energy. Voters must do their bit by not blaming politicians for bumps on their way to long -term sustainability.

Decorum, decency seems
To have left the White House
I have had problems with many of our presidents, from Harry Truman to Joe Biden, during my life. But two important virtues that they all shared were decorum and decency.
Decorum “Behavior in Keeping With Good Taste and propriety” and Decency, “Polite, Moral and Honest Behavior and Attitudes That Show Respect For Othher People”: Rarely Did Presidents Use Name-Calling, Denigration of Women, Brow-Beating of Care Leaders, ENGAGE, ENGAGE, ENGAGE, ENGAGAGE, ENGAGAGE, ENGAGAGESE, ENGAGAGESE, ENGAGAGEE, ENGAGAGEE, Engage Minorities, Bullying, Firing Without Due Process, Asking for Titles and Prizes, Nor Respect The History of America and World Cultures, and They were not deeply afraid of constructive criticism.
If leaders have to be emulated, can you imagine that all Americans started using this behavior as normal? The president is rarely called up for his behavior. Is this what has become of the presidency?

Wildlife Conservation Key
to a healthy ecosystem
We must concentrate on nature conservation. It is essential because habitat loss and poaching species ride to extinction.
The problem is that biodiversity decreases and we need collective action to protect habitats and poaching. Each species plays a crucial role and their loss can have negative effects. According to the World Wildlife FundNature populations have fallen by 73% since 1970.
This decline influences us all, because healthy ecosystems offer clean air and water. I believe we should protect the various species of the earth. Deforestation is a direct cause, while the growth of the human population is an indirect factor.
We need more protected areas for wildlife animals to thrive. Governments must maintain anti-poaching laws and individuals can support nature conservation organizations. You can contribute by donating to conservation efforts, reducing your CO2 footprint and arguing for a stronger environmental policy.
Let’s act to protect the incredible species of our planet.

We have to break silence
On the Gaza tragedy
Regarding: “USA, Israel shrugs in the famine report(Page A1, 24 August).
Experts in the field of food safety and the United Nations have confirmed famine in Gaza. Europe and many other countries express indignation with regard to this man made by humans, but Thetrump Administration continues to support Israel’s actions. Mike Huckabee, American ambassador in Israel, even repeated the lies of Benjamin Netanyahu – “Ton van Food went to Gaza, but Hamas Savages has stolen it.” All credible sources these claims. Now Israel is planning a complete land invasion that will promote hunger, murder and destruction.
And on the West Bank, the Israeli government approved a large settlement project that would effectively eliminate the possibility of a Palestinian state, which is the hope that ultimately creates a lasting peace. And the US is silent. Write and call your politicians to stop this indignation.

At Alter of Hypocrisis
I have always thought that great religions of peace, tolerance, love, inclusion and kindness preached for everyone.
What I see are people who show off religious ‘talismans’ on chains, earrings, pins and clothing, and they don’t seem to practice any convictions that preach their religion.
Nowadays we have absolutely many hypocrites in the government, right?
