We were all waiting for a new striker to join Leicester. We had high hopes for Michail Antonio, but he never joined. Callum Wilson was also mentioned, but decided to stay at West Ham. Then out of the blue came special news with great excitement.
It wasn’t the men’s team we got excited about, but the Leicester women. One of the game’s superstars has joined the party. It was a bit of a shock to see the megastar Alisha Lehmann came to Leicsester from Como. Lehmann is one of the most popular personalities in women’s football.
She is an experienced and skilled female footballer, don’t ignore that. Previously played for West Ham, Aston Villa and Juventus. At 27 she is in her prime, hopefully she will give Leicester a lift.
Lehmann played 55 games for Switzerland. A proven international, involved in the 2025 European Championships, she is a popular figure on several social media platforms, with millions of followers on Instagram and Tik Tok.
We certainly hope she will perform well for Leicester. We expect her to be the attacking force up front that Leicester have been looking for. If she shows good form on the pitch, combined with her popularity off it, all sides look like winners.

This gives Leicester a lot of attention and allows the club to build their brand. A fractured fanbase on the men’s side would certainly get another chance to see the club with different eyes. Alesha Lehmann should be recognized for her scoring prowess. However, she also attracts attention for other reasons. Together this forms a good combination.
Hopefully we will see that this special move by the football club will have major positive consequences. The goal is to get more publicity. The aim is to increase visitor numbers. Hopefully this will increase the popularity of the women’s team and Leicester City more broadly.
Lehmann was previously the girlfriend of Douglas Luizbut has recently started dating Montel McKenzie. McKenzie (27) is a non-league footballer. Despite being in the lower levels of football, he is a celebrity himself. Known for participating in Love Island.
Leicester women are currently ranked 9th in the WSL. With West Ham, Everton and Liverpool behind them in the table. Next up is West Ham at home on Sunday January 25. They played in their last three league games against Man City (0-3), London City Lionesses (1-0) and Tottenham (0-1).
Alisha Lehmann isn’t the only new face in the women’s camp. Swedish midfielder Emma Janson came over from Rosengaard. Defender, Ashleigh Nevilleis a new face, previously at Tottenham. A fourth addition is attacker Rachel Williamsfrom Manchester United. Rachel was born and raised in Leicester and moved away at the age of 38. She is an England international and left Leicester in 2010.
We wish all four the best on their journey. Hopefully they will build good relationships and become important players for the club in the future.
