Los Angeles Lakers-Superster LeBron James will enter his 23rd NBA season this fall, and the four-time MVP still has to drop hints when he will finally announce his retirement.
“As far as LeBron is concerned, I know that there is a lot of speculation. Based on my conversations, I honestly think they don’t know,” ESPNs Brian Windhorst said on the podcast “The Hoop Collective”.
“As far as I know, he is going to be honest from year to year. Could this be his last year? Yes. Will it be his last year? I don’t know. He knows now? Maybe. But my interpretation is that it is not established. He will see where he is at the end of the year.”
LeBron James was able to leave Lakers in 2026
Even if this is not James’ in the NBA last year, it could be his last with the Lakers.

Paul’s explanation led to speculation that James could possibly ask for an exchange later this summer if he was not satisfied with the movements of the Lakers out of season.
Warriors have asked James several times
Last month, NBA Insider Jake Fischer Also reported that the Golden State Warriors “the last 18 months” at the Lakers have contacted the Lakers to show interest in a trade for James.
