Race 4: Maiden claims $ 16,000, 3-6 year olds, 5 1/2 Furlongs (grass)
6-11-1-3 (dirt: 1-10-11-8)
#6 Call me a taxi (6-1) Makes his first start of a 10 -month break and gets Lasix for the first time. He set the pace and was in second place on debut on grass last September in Gulfstream Park, then went to the sidelines after a flat attempt in November. This is a fairly soft field to make his first start of the year, and he has shown sufficient power to earn respect here. Besides a very dull result, two races back, #11 Italian child (5-1) Has been in steadily improved form and peaks on 65 last. He will try to run from the pace from outside. #1 Dave the Great (7-2) Acted in the gate before the race was the last road, the front could not make and faded to fourth place. He is at his best when he is able to make the lead, and you have to think that he will be made up from the inside.
Race 5: Claim $ 12,500 (N/W2L), 3-year-olds and higher, 1 mile
7-2-8-5
#7 Birravino Blvd (5-2) Has a “triple fig” advantage over his rivals. He has run at least 77 in each of his last three dirt. No one else is better executed than a 74 in one of their last three starts on this surface. He also falls for the first time in a non-winners of two claimant. #2 Speedy Alex (10-1) Was well beaten the last time he tried this distance. Since then, however, he has been in improved form, including a girl-breaking score on this number four starts back with a career-best 74. #8 Blue Marble (6-1) Followed a slow pace and just missed in his first two-turn attempt last. There is not much speed here either, but he will fight as long as he is not too far from the leadership.
Race 6: Starter Optionally claims $ 16,000, 3-year-olds and up, mares and mares, 5 1/2 Furlongs (grass)
1-11-9-8 (dirt: 13-12-4-1)
#1 She is not an uncle (5-1) Went twice gate-to-wire at Colonial in the summer. They faded those six furlongs, but should appreciate the cutbacks in distance and profiles as the most important speed. #11 Wise and Elegant (6-1) Improved 20 points to an 84 in her second start of a three -month resignation. Her best races came to this song, including a victory last November when she was a strong early pace and converted. #9 Diane Lee (9-2) The exact on her last three starts, including a Going-Away victory last with a career-best 80.
Race 7: Allowance Optional Claiming (N/W2X), 3-year-olds and Up, Marries and Marries, 5 1/2 Furlongs (grass)
15-5-11-4 (dirt: 12-7-9-5)
#15 Simply mentioned (7-2) Won twice at this level in the summer in Colonial, and now falls from a third -level race there in a fairly simple competition on the second level. She often gives her backers sweat, with both victories that come less than a length. However, she has enough late blow to get the job done. Jamie Ness has a few runners here, who are both serious contenders. #5 Central Casting (5-2) Made her first start on the grass as the last and used a field at the first level while he raced everywhere on the lead. Earlier this year, she won dirty three times and is perhaps talented on both surfaces. Her stablemate, #11 Mystic Seaport (4-1)has been tested on the lawn by the fight. She has won six times in 11 grass, including a final victory in Delaware Park. She will sit near the pace and benefit if her Barnmate is reduced at the pace.
Race 8: Maiden Claims $ 25,000, 2-year-olds, 6 Furlongs
4-3-7-5
#4 Telmyblessings (5-1) Is from Practical Joke, who touches 15% with first starters, and has worked well on his Penn National Base for trainer Chris Davis. It would not be surprising if he initially asked a big race. #3 Life (7-2) Was away as one of the favorites in his debut in Timonium and ended a pace-hunting third. He ran a respectable 60 that day and will be difficult to beat if he is improved of that figure. #7 Mr. Rosco (3-1) Has been racing five times and walked three times in the 60s. He will have to show more early speed if he wants to win it, but he could at least collect for a small share.
Race 9: Laurel Futurity, 2-year-olds, 1 1/16 miles (grass)
4-1-11-6 (dirt: 8-2-5-3)
#4 Proton (3-1) His girl broke impressively to go 5 ½ Furlongs in Colonial. He was on the rail from the pace, kicked when he was asked and pulled away with style. This is his first time that he has two innings, but his family tree indicates that he will not have a problem with the extra distance. His mother, accused, won to go on grass twice. Second Dam Kiawah Cat was three times in the commitment to go on the lawn for a long time, and Third Dam Nastique was a grade 1 winner on grass and took the Matriarch handicap from 1988 in Hollywood Park (she also won the Delaware disability twice on Dirt). Various aunts and uncles also showed construction in grass routes. #1 Jutland (7-2) In particular with each start, it is in particular improved and was placed in the commitment, second in the Joy Stakes of the kitten finally out. He chased a gate-to-wire winner who set up fractions that afternoon, but still rose well if the best could and ended a clear second as the 13-10 favorite. #11 Sunrise (9-2) Hart showed in his girl -breaking score in Saratoga Last Out. He ran wide at the pace, fired his dueling partner and led in the play, and then threw a determined late challenger to win through a nose. He improved six points to a 77 that day and looks like a dangerous shipper for Todd Pletcher.
Race 10: Selima Stakes, 2-year-olds, mares, 1 1/16 miles (grass)
3-6-2-8 (dirt: 4-5-2-1)
This race is named after one of the Merries Foundation of the Thoroughbred variety, which was imported into Maryland in the early 1950s. #3 Ultimate Love (3-1) Has already won twice to go two turns on grass. She blinded on the opening day of autumn, made a strong step of a modest pace and went away to a score of 6 ¾ length with a much improved 83. Jorge Ruiz returns on board after having driven her debut win, and her late punch should be more than enough to process it easily. #6 Oscar’s Encore (9-2) Ran an impressive 88 Going 5 ½ Furlongs during debut in Saratoga. From that victory, she left as one of the favorites in the youth fillies of Kentucky Downs, but could not lead and three lengths were defeated. Although she had to do with some traffic problems, she would not have won, even if she was not forced to check in the last sixteenth. Yet she falls into class, has great early pace figures and is the only one in the field that runs twice in the 80s. #2 Lovely Gray (5-1) Little showed rivals in Kentucky in her last start against first level, but broke her girl with a strong late move at Colonial in her first start.
Race 11: Maiden Claims $ 12,500, 3-6 year olds, 6 Furlongs
4-8-1-10
#4 Railroad Inn (5-1) Early to the leadership with an even money favorite in Delaware as the last, surpassed him with a length and became second in a rival who was a perfect journey. That was his first start in which he showed early speed, after three races to fall too far to fight seriously. It seems that he will be good at the right time. #8 Artist Mark (2-1) Comes in for a career-bear tag and is the only one in the race that runs in each of his last two starts in the 70s. He just missed two starts back in Timonium, faded last to go a mile and now gets a distance more in his wheelhouse. #1 Furious George (12-1) Shifts back to dirt after a flat attempt on grass. His two best figures came in his last two dirty starts, including a game effort on this song at the end of June in which he missed half a length.
