Currently on the pre-season tour with the team, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has granted an interview to CNN Sports (H/T Sports world), In which he discussed various topics with regard to the club.

One of the biggest points of talk was the fanfare around Barcelona Wonderkid Lamine Yamal, with Laporta that big praise over the younger cowardly.

When demanding the comparisons between the 18-year-old The Masia Gem and Barcelona Great Lionel Messi, the club president chose not to feed them further.

“Lamine Yamal is Lamine Yamal, Leo Messi was Leo Messi,” Laporta said.

“Leo has been the best player in the world, and Lamine, I think, in his position at the moment, is the best player in the world,” He emphasized.

Laporta praised the young person for his assets and work ethics and said: “In the case of Lamine there are not many players like him because he is a genius and he is at the highest level.

“He is very professional and knows that to be the best and to be at the top, he must be in shape, he must train, he must follow the advice of the coach and the people around him and, in fact, feel happy, feel that he likes to play football.”

Laporta also spoke about the most recent summer signing of Barcelona, Marcus Rashford, who greeted the Englishman for the desire he showed to become a member of the club.

“We signed this player because he was deeply committed to coming to Barcelona,” Lorta said.

“He is fast, strong, dedicated and again, he did everything he could to sign for Barcelona. He lobbyed his agent, spoke with the club and at the same time with Manchester United.”

In the meantime, with regard to Barcelona’s arch rivals Real Madrid, who made important signing sessions this summer and have changed managers, Laporta noted:

“I think we were a better team than they are last season. They have great players, they have drawn a new coach, and we will see, but Real Madrid will always be our rival.”

During the interview, Laporta set the opportunity that Barcelona played an official LA Liga match in the US next season, which states that they are open to the idea.

“We are pleased to go to the United States every year because we feel loved, we feel respected as a club, we have many fans there,” he said.

“For Barcelona it will be a great honor to participate in this event, which will be an official LA Liga match, but at the same time it will be a big event in the United States.”

Continuation he stated: “We are a club that is at La Liga and we are responsible because we want to put the competition on the market as well as possible. I repeat, I am open and (Barcelona) is at the disposal of La Liga.”

Laporta was closed by criticizing the more and more busy football calendar, as he said: “The football calendar is too tight. We have to find a solution and reduce the number of matches.

“As a club we need more players than normal (to play more matches), and that means we have to invest more, and that means we have to do our best to have a more competitive team.

“Of course they are talented players, but they are also people, and there are limits. They need time to rest and entertain, and I think that is something to keep in mind.”
