Lamborghini shows off a collector’s inscrutable garage.
For over 60 years, Lamborghini has been responsible for creating some of the world’s most desirable and spectacular supercars, and is even credited with creating the genre and inventing the supercar as we know it today with the Miura. However, in more recent years in Lamborghini’s history, the manufacturer has developed some incredibly special models, ultra-rare creations that represent the pinnacle of Lamborghini design and craftsmanship in their time, with advanced approaches to performance and even previews of features of future series production models.
These few examples include iconic supercars such as the Reventón, the Sesto Elemento, the Veneno, the Centenario, the Sián, the Countach LPI 800-4 and most recently the Fenomeno. Collector Albert Spiess, whose passion for Lamborghini supercars came into existence with the purchase of a 1979 Countach LP400 S and is the owner of most of those few vehicles. His collection includes a 2007 Reventon, a 2010 Sesto Elemento, a 2013 Veneno, a 2017 Centenario, a 2019 Sian and a 2021 Countach LPI 800-4.
Acquiring his original Countach was the catalyst for his decision to start a Lamborghini collection, which, apart from the few examples, includes some of the rarest and most impactful models. Other Lamborghinis that Spiess owns include a Miura SV and a Silhouette. For Spiess, the few examples are not only ultra-exclusive masterpieces of collector’s quality, but have special significance in his collection due to their innovation, design and technical features. For Albert Spiess, every Lamborghini in his collection is a chapter in the manufacturer’s incredible story of automotive excellence.
