The Los Angeles Lakers dethroned the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday evening 120-114 behind the almost triple digits of Luka Doncic.

Doncic led the Lakers with 36 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while LeBron James added 26 points and 10 assists.

Jake LaRavia also scored 26 points against his former team, and Deandre Ayton scored 15 points as they earned their second home win over the Grizzlies in three days.

On the other hand, Memphis’ Jaylen Wells scored 23 points and rookie Cedric Coward scored 16 points with nine rebounds all in the first half, but did not play after halftime due to an ankle injury.

Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 14 points and Jock Landale 13 with 10 rebounds, but not enough to end their three-game skid.

Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was out for the 15th time in the past 21 games due to a calf injury.

Los Angeles trailed by 11 points with just under three minutes left in the third quarter before closing the period on an 8-2 run, trailing 87-83.

The Lakers tied the score at 92-92 on a driving layup by LaRavia with 7:14 to go, then took their first lead since the first quarter at 94-92 on another layup.

The Grizzlies traded the lead back and forth before the Lakers took the lead for good at 100-99 on a pull-up jumper from Doncic with 5:12 left, sparking their momentum.

James and Doncic won shorthanded without Rui Hachimura for the third straight match and Austin Reaves for the fourth time due to a calf injury.

Memphis looks to end its skid in a home game against the Spurs while the Lakers are in New Orleans on Tuesday.
