Critics of Lab Golf’s Center-axis Only designs now have one excuse not to try their putters.
After Lab Golf on the PGA Tour was released at the Rocket Classic, Lab Golf Formally launches OZ.1I HS, the first design of the company.
“Liehoekbalans is so much more than where the shaft goes in the head, and golfers will feel that when they try OZ.1i HS,” said Lab Golf CEO Sam Hahn in a press release. “It looks a lot like a traditional putter, but it performs like a laboratory. This is a huge step in the direction of our mission to better help every golfer putt.”
Lab Golf shook the Putter World in 2018 with its radical zero-torque (or “start”) designing, which in fact creates a new product category. Now, with the release of the OZ.1I HS, the company branches into a more traditional -looking profile. It is also the first new model since Lab has obtained an investment of $ 200 million from a private equity company, which indicates a new chapter for the brand.
This is what the new Lab Golf Oz.1i HS, for those who could be and what I think of the new Putter.
What is the Lab Golf OZ.1I HS?
Since he came on the market in 2018 with his original targeted Force 2.1 -Putter, Lab Golf has convinced people to choose function above form, that is with the best results above the best looks, with their putters. Designs such as the DF 2.1, Mezz.1, Mezz.1 Max and DF3 all defied how conventional putters looked like, but followers were convinced that they could help them get the ball into the hole.

But the release of the original OZ.1 Putter at the end of last year began to change that idea, because it proved that the company’s lying corner could be applied to the company’s technology on more conventional packer forms.
Now, with the OZ.1I HS, Lab has removed another common bottleneck for his critics: the middle-switched design.
The OZ.1I HS has the same shape as the OZ.1 and OZ.1i, but has a heel with a heel with a heel. The OZ.1 is the most conventional hammer form of Lab and is designed in collaboration with Masters Champion Adam Scott 2013.
The zero headpieces are made via a patented aluminum riser that still places the asas through the CG of the putter and a hand balancing process such as laboratory

“Designing a putter with a heel that stays in balance in the Luugenhoek offered us a unique challenge,” said Brian Parks, vice-president Engineering of Lab. “The result is our adapted, patented aluminum riser, an important feature of the OZ.1i HS with which we can offer multiple lies without compromising the characteristic feeling and balance and balance that golfers expect from every Putter laboratory.”
The riser is supplied in 10 different configurations for lie angles between 65 and 74 degrees.
Who is the Lab Golf OZ.1I HS for?
The answer here is simple: every golfer who was not willing to try a zero couple Putter because of the design in the central axle.

While the aluminum riserhals of the OZ.1I HS does not offer the same visual as a traditional plumber or slanted neck, it will stop addressing the golf ball, so that you can have an uninterrupted view of the putter behind the ball.
Golfers who have previously only placed with more traditional Hosels will see the OZ.1I HS much more on a traditional hammer than the earlier range of Lab.
My thoughts!
I am one of the golfers who waited for Lab to offer a more traditional -looking model, because I despise putters in the middle. That said, the OZ.1i was the first form that Lab fell out that caught my attention, so I am not surprised that they have kept the shape for their first heel -switched option.

Although I am still attached to putters in knife style, the OZ.1i HS has certainly intrigued me, and my early results have been pretty interesting. I only need a small adjustment period to switch from a knife putter.
Despite the fact that I had a pendulum that could theoretically work with a Zero-Torque-Putter, I usually had trouble with a left-wing Miss. But I never saw that in my first round with the OZ.1I HS.
I still claim that zero couple putters do not work for everyone because of the starting style, but for those who have been kept away because of the middle shaft, it is time for them to give the laboratory concept a real attempt.
Looking ahead, with more flexibility thanks to their new private equity investment, will Lab take the heel-switched technology and apply it to a knife-putter? That’s where I still hope for.
