The Knicks continue to reform the back of their selection.
The team and the experienced guard Malcolm Brogdon agreed on Friday morning with a one -year -old deal, confirmed the position.
Brogdon won the sixth man of the year in 2022-23, his only season in Boston; But he can play a somewhat smaller role in the garden.
He goes to a training camp with a non-godaded contract and an opportunity to be a bargain.
The Knicks signed Landy Shamet on Thursday again after conversations with Ben Simmons were cleared.
After the often injured Simmon’s initial flirt had the knicks, but decided not to hire a minimum offer, they ironically turned to another guard who has had his own problems to stay healthy, although not so serious.
While Brogdon was the key to the Celtics in the regular season, he ran an arm injury that limited him in the late season.
Last season he only played two dozen matches-average 15 points, four rebounds and four assists per game for the Wizards-39 with the blazers the year before and 36 for Indiana in 2021-22.
Brogdon has missed a total of 162 matches in the last four seasons, or about half of the available action.
Yet that will not make much difference to the Knicks, because his load will be much lighter in New York.
And after dismissed coach Tom Thibodeu did not have a bank or refused to use it, successor Mike Brown is now set up with a solid group of backups.
Brogdon, who will be 33 in December, can be part of it.
