There is room for a new owner to make some style adjustments in this Kensington unit with one bedroom, but it has a lot for it with a spacious layout, wooden floors and curved door openings. It is located on the fourth floor of the Colonial Revival Style building from the 1930s in 570 Ocean Parkway.
Ornament on the streamlined red brick building is limited to a few keystoned lintels on the top floor, tires with brick details and a columned entry. The Circa 1940 tax photo Shows those details and that the windows on the first floor ever were decorated with shutters. Plans for the six -storey building were submitted in 1938with regular Kavy & Kavovitt mentioned as architects. The practice was a busy, the design of hundreds of apartment buildings in Brooklyn and Queens in the 1930s and 1940s.
The layout is similar to other units of the period, with rooms that radiate a central foyer. The foyer here has two cupboards and a niche with shelves, another common characteristic.
A curved opening leads to the living room, which is large enough for a sitting and dining area. Walls and trim are white here, as they are throughout the unity. The floors appear in good repair and the room is surrounded by photo rails. Two windows are in a angular corner and marked with their own curved detail.
A short hall of the foyer, where there is another cupboard, leads to the kitchen and the eating gel. It is here that a new owner may want to make some adjustments. The room is spacious with two exposures and an original curved half wall that distributes the dining area from the cooking space. It seems that new faux wooden floors have been installed. It is another pattern that is added to the kitchen, which has wood -trimmed laminate cabinets, green laminate towers and a brown and cream -colored glass backsplash. The kitchen appears in working condition, but a few upgrades, including adding a dishwasher, would get the most out of the room.
The beautiful bedroom has two expansions with a view of the tree top, a cupboard and space for a king -size bed.
The bathroom has an interesting period tile and fixture combination, with yellow and black wall tile with black accessories combined with a peach, or “Persian brown”Bad. The mosaic floor tile is in shades of peach and brown with black accents. The list photos show some missing tiles, so a little work may be needed. There is a replacement vanity.
Facilities in the 43 unit Lift building are a laundry, a bicycle and pram space and a super-living super. Maintenance for this device is $ 708 per month.
OEG Polonsky from Douglas Elliman has the list and the apartment costs $ 385,000. If you want to see it personally, there is an open house on Saturday 23 August. What do you think?
