It seemed that Justin Rose would have a challenging approach in the first play -off hole on the Fedex St. Jude Championship in TPC Southwind. His t -shirt just shot the water of the fairway hardly free and his ball was dangerous above the line of the penalty, so he had little room to stand.
But from 100 meters Rose stood inside and hit a fantastic shot to only 13 feet, turned on his left side and held up for a beat before he quickly moved his balance to the right and more stable ground.
Rose made par on the first play -off hole and eventually won with a birdie against JJ Spaun during their third extra trip to 18 for his 12th PGA Tour title. And the footwear that kept him stable on the first play -off hole was a big reason why.
