An old member of the UFC Roster believes that Justin Gaethje has earned the right to challenge Ilia Topuria.
Topuria is the reigning UFC light weight champion. Fight -fans have waited to see who the first competition of “El Matador” will be at 155 pounds after he stored Charles Oliveira in their collision of the Late June.
Gaethje has teeth on the table for another chance to capture an undisputed UFC title. He even considered walking away from Pro MMA competition if he doesn’t get his wish.
In an interview with Mmajunkie.comMichael Chiesa explained why he thinks Gaethje deserves a confrontation with Topuria.
“He took a huge opportunity when he fought Max. Or (the UFC) promised him something or not, I don’t know. Nobody knows the truth except Justin. But do you know what? Just give the man the fight. He deserves it. He deserved it in blood. A win-win scenario.
Gaethje and colleague light weights Arman Tsarukyan and Paddy Pimblett were spectators during the lightweight title victory of Topuria on Oliveira on UFC 317. Pimblett even stepped into the Achthoek after the fight and was pushed by Topuria after a war war.
Although some initially thought that UFC tried to build hype to Topuria vs. Pimblett, Dana White reporters said that he did not want the Staredown to happen.
