The Timberwolves announced in a press release that they have waived two-way guard Jules Bernard just days after signing him on Wednesday.

Despite the short stint, the 26-year-old will still receive the remainder of his prorated salary, essentially earning an additional bonus on top of his G League salary.

Bernard has spent this season with Minnesota’s G League affiliate in Iowa, where he has put up strong numbers, averaging 22.6 points while shooting 42.5% from the field, 34.6% from three-point range and 80.4% from the free-throw line.

He has also added 6.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in 34.5 minutes.

He previously attended Timberwolves training camp on an Exhibit 10 contract before being waived shortly before the regular season.

Bernard’s only NBA experience came during the 2023-24 season on a two-way contract with Washington, where he played in 19 games and averaged 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.9 minutes per game.

The trade creates an open spot for Minnesota ahead of Wednesday’s deadline for signing players to two-way contracts.

Rocco Zikarsky and Enrique Freeman currently hold the team’s remaining two-way positions.
