Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls have not made progress in contract discussions since the team presented an offer of four years, $ 80 million to the limited free agent at the start of the low season on 30 June. The Giddey camp continues to close a deal with an annual average closer to $ 30 million.
“Will Giddey sign the qualifying offer?” said Jake Fischer. “That is his threat. That is now his leverage about the Chicago Bulls.”
The bulls remain determined, they will not entertain scenarios for drawing and traders for Giddey. Some teams are interested in Giddey, but the bulls are not currently involved.
“Chicago does not want to lose Josh Giddey at all,” said Fischer. “They have told the other teams, they have said it since the cutterpower that they are not interested in a discussion with Josh Giddy. They appreciated Josh Giddey. They immediately exchanged Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey for Josh Giddey. They don’t really get off their offer.”
Giddey appeared last season in 70 games with the Bulls, on average 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists.
