Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – a fun and probably unique fact about the new Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson: he was teammates with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant after he was named after Michael Jordan.
And although he perhaps has part of their self -confidence, Clarkson comes from the bank, in contrast to that unparalleled trio basketball -Superster, while specializing in fitting in a dynamic – instead of dominating the Kobes of Lebrons.
“I can fit everywhere. Place myself all over the world and I will be good,” Clarkson said in an interview with the post. “I think I am just. Wherever you place me, I accept it for what it is. I enjoy the experience.”
Clarkson did that in Cleveland, where he became a member of a team that had continued to three consecutive finals and helped them come to another.
He did that in Utah, where he participated in a selection that had finished the fifth in the West and helped them to reach no. 1 within two seasons.
Now, with the Knicks, he comes from the bank for a team with championship ambitions after the run to the 2025 conference final.
It is a welcome development after Clarkson’s last two seasons with jazz, which were defined by his DNPs and many losses.
He wants to go back in the play -offs.
“That is something that you follow. That is another high, man, if you want to say it that way,” said Clarkson, who scored seven points in the win of 113-104 of the Knicks on the 76ers on Saturday. “The level of detail, every game is important. I really want to come back there and I definitely want to take every step daily, but here comes one of the reasons why I wanted to compete in the play -offs and in a winning team that plays something,” he said.
Nevertheless, there are questions about whether Clarkson has lost weight at the age of 33 and after two lost seasons.
They will only be answered much deeper in the regular season, and the two pre -season games here – victories on the Sixers – have a glimpse of the good and bad fact.
- He only shot 1-from-6 from outside the arch, including a air ball in game 1, without much hesitation to launch the next one.
- The aggressiveness and confidence worked on 2-PINETERS, of which Clarkson turned at a speed of 63 percent.
- He broke the defense twice on Saturday for Highlight Assists to Mitchell Robinson.
- He has committed three sales in 28 combined minutes.
It is an up and down experience with Clarkson, who does not seem to stop to consider the previous attempt or his role.
He finally registered for the Knicks in June before he knew who took the Knicks as head coach. Clarkson always believes that he fits in anyway.
“It was not like they are sending the entire team and started again,” said Clarkson. ‘So be familiar with the boys [on the Knicks]That has made the decision for me.
“I always look at the better side of it.”
