Jordan Clarkson went to a Carlos Alcaraz match in Wimbledon when his agent, Rich Paul, called with an important question.
“Where do you want?” Paul asked.
“I said,” I want to come to New York, “Clarkson recalled Saturday night.
Paul then stuck to the Knicks to pass on the interests of Clarkson.
“It all happened in two minutes,” said Clarkson. “Then I was a knick.”
Clarkson, 33, unveiled this exchange on Saturday evening during a live tapping of the podcast of “The Kamermaates” organized by his new teammates, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart.
The interview, which took place for hundreds of rain-made Knicks fans on Rumsey Playfield in Central Park, represented Clarkson’s first public comments since he joined the Knicks in July with a minimum contract.
So why did he chose New York after negotiating a buy -out of jazz?

After the central park publicly sang the name of Clarkson, Hart enjoyed the lack of diversity in Salt Lake City.

Later in the interview, Brunson said he discussed with Clarkson well before it happened.
“I’m not going to say when,” said Knicks’ captain, “but I and Jordan spoke about this a while ago.”
With 11 years logged in to the NBA, Clarkson is now the oldest and most experienced player in the rotation of Knicks.
He is expected to come from the bank as a scorer of the microwave, a role that he earned the sixth man of the year in 2021 with jazz.
This version of Clarkson is slightly slower and somewhat unknown after he played only 36 games for the tank jazz last season.
But he seems satisfied with falling in line.
“You did great things here,” Clarkson said about the Knicks, those NBA Finals ambitions went to the final of the conference after last season. “I just want to come in here and improve what you are going on.”
Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele were the top-free agent signing sessions of the Knicks, but their biggest movements outside the season of Tom Thibodeau and hiring Mike Brown-Warden not mentioned during the two-hour live show of Saturday.

Crawford, the second guest after Manning at the Live Show of Saturday, revealed that he will not return to MSG Networks next season to broadcast Knicks matches after he arrived at NBC as an analyst.
Crawford served as a replacement for Clyde Frazier on MSG for seven games last season.
Frazier, 80, is planning to return, but has shortened his schedule in recent years.
NBC, back as a television partner at the NBA, also hired Carmelo Anthony, Reggie Miller, Grant Hill, Vince Carter and, most remarkable, Michael Jordan as a “special contributor”.
