Pro Scouting Analyst Fellowship

Summary of the work:
This person will support the efforts of the professional reconnaissance department by carrying out extensive evaluations of professional players in the United States and abroad. The employee will use multiple sources of information and be highly dependent on video analysis and at the same time work closely with the Baseball Analytics department. This is a seasonal position based on Baltimore, MD. Preference will be given to candidates who can start in the low season, although candidates will only be considered in the summer.
Primary responsibilities
- Together scouting reports on professional players with the help of video, technology and personally, the decision -making process of the club seems to improve.
- Monitor The grid dynamics of other organizations and competitions, keeping up prospect lists, depth cards and positional rankings.
- Distribute goal lists (FA, Trade, Rule 5, international professional players, etc.) During scouts, coaches and Front Office staff and coordinate answers to recommendations.
- Monitor scouting reports for consistency, accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate reconnaissance schedules and track the coverage of goal players.
- Problems with technical and equipment problems, offering solutions for video scouting assignments, coordinating agreements for sharing data and performing other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Assisting with data analysis, maintenance and collection.
- Prepare tools, visualizations and reports to help spread information during baseball activities.
Qualifications
- Exceptional knowledge of baseball and of sabermetrical research and principles.
- Demonstrable experience with player evaluation.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with employees of all levels.
- Skill with Microsoft Excel, SQL, R and Python Preferred.
- Degree or equivalent experience in a stem field.
- Possibility to work and travel evenings, weekends and holidays if necessary.

The expected hourly rate for this role is $ 20/hour.
