A group of students protested on Thursday against Vice -President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), where he attended a seminar about the Indian knowledge system as a guest of honor. However, the university board condemned the protest and has called for a probe.

The protest was led by members of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (Jnusu), who have been organizing demonstrations about various student -related care for several days.

Tensions rose when some students reportedly tried to block the Vice President’s vehicle on campus.

In an official statement, JNU acknowledged the honor of organizing Vice -President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Minister Van Poorten of the Union, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, and thanked the Delhi police and security agencies for the event of the event.

However, the university strongly criticized the attempt by “a few students” to disturb the procedure. It added that the protest was a violation of democratic principles and an action that affected the image of the university.

The university government said that although it respects the right to peaceful protest, condemns the illegal and disruptive behavior. It has asked its security branch to submit a detailed investigation report on the incident.

The statement of the registrar called on students to enter into a respectful dialogue and to maintain a positive academic atmosphere.
