Jiri Prochazka has made his first comments after being booked for a vacant light heavyweight title fight opposite Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327.

It was late last night that UFC CEO Dana White made the shocking announcement that Alex Pereira would be leaving the club promotion’s light heavyweight title, while revealing that Prochazka and Ulberg are now booked to clash for the vacant belt on April 11 in Miami (at UFC 327).

Jiri Prochazka (32-5-1 MMA) will enter the bout on a two-fight winning streak following back-to-back knockout victories over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr., respectively. The former light heavyweight champion has gone 3-2 over his past five Octagon appearances, with his only two losses in that time coming against the aforementioned Alex Pereira.

Meanwhile, Carlos Ulberg (13-1 MMA) will enter his first career UFC title fight on a nine-fight winning streak, with his most recent victory being a first-round knockout over former title challenger Dominick Reyes last September. ‘Black Jag’ suffered his only career loss in March 2021, when he was eliminated by Kennedy Nzechukwu.

Shortly after Dana White’s stunning announcement, Jiri Prochazka took to Instagram where he delivered the following message to his fans.

“Here we are. The moment I prayed for, fought for,” said Prochazka. “More than ever. Let’s go for it. Let’s go for it for the whole of the Czech Republic. Thank you for your support. Let’s go for the title. Let’s go hunting. Let’s go hunting for Ulberg.”
