The Jetour T1 has been spotted again in Malaysia, this time in PJ’s bustling SS2 Square, as posted on the paultan.org Automotive/Car Discussion Group by Michael Wong Boon Kim.
What this is is a less rugged-looking (or more urban-flavored, if you prefer) and slightly smaller version of the T2, which we recently showed you in Malaysian spec.
Length, width, height and wheelbase are 4,706, 1,967, 1,845 and 2,810 mm respectively. The tailgate opens upwards rather than sideways like the T2, and there are major differences front and rear, including lighting and ‘spare wheel’/no ‘spare wheel’. Both have a practical-looking cabin with a large touchscreen in the center and an integrated digital instrument cluster.

Buyers in China can choose from 184 hp/290 Nm 1.5 liter or 254 hp/390 Nm 2.0 liter engines, both with four turbo engines. The smaller engine drives the front wheels via a seven-speed DCT; the larger engine drives the front wheels or all wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Incidentally, the T2 uses the same 2.0-liter engine, but it is combined with the seven-speed DCT and AWD. In China, the Jetour T1 is priced from 125,000 to 155,000 yuan (RM72k-90k) positioned below the T2, which starts from 140,000 yuan (RM81k). Since RM179k is the estimated price of the T2, do you think the T1 could dip below RM170k when it launches here?
