Jeremy Soochan will miss Eurobasket because of a calf injury, the Polish basketball federation announced on Sunday. The Sochan injury is not expected to cost him an NBA time with the San Antonio Spurs, but it was decided that he would be the best to return to San Antonio to start the injury to rehabilitate.
“We have done the necessary tests for Jeremy. The injury is not serious, but there are fewer than three weeks to Eurobasket,” said Lukasz Koszarek, director of the Polish national team. “This is very little time. Jeremy is a very important part of our team, he has great contact with all players and employees and we are very sorry that his adventure with the national team ends so quickly this summer.”
Spurs GM Brian Wright said: “In the light of the injury, Jeremy received professional help in Poland. Collaboration with the staff and the management of the Polish national team has always been exemplary. In this situation, however, the best option is for Jeremy to return to San Antonio.”
Soochan expressed his disappointment about missing the Eurobasket tournament this summer.
“I am very disappointed, but because of a calf muscle injury, I unfortunately cannot play for Polish on this year’s Eurobasket,” Sochhan said. “I have worked hard for this in recent months, and the time that I trained and played with the national team was great. It is a special group and I really enjoyed being part of this team. Fortunately, the doctors predict that I will be completely healthy by the time that the start of the preparation camp for the upcoming NBA season is able to support you, I will support you with you,” “
