In one Instagram Post announced Jeremy Lin his retirement by playing basketball. Lin wrote:
“As athletes, we are always aware that the possibility of retirement is never far away. I spent my 15-year career knowing that one day I would have to walk away, and yet actually saying goodbye to basketball I have ever made.
It was the honor of your life to compete against the brightest competitors among the smartest lights and to challenge what the world thought for someone who looks like me. I have delivered my wildest youth dreams to play for fans around the world. Forever, I will be the child who lived completely when I touched a basketball.
So many people have sacrificed and cast in my journey, more than I could ever pay back. Thank you all that you believe in me, for walking with me, for celebrating my highlights and picking me up at my low point. This is a ride that I never wanted to end, but I know it’s time. Forever, I will miss playing basketball for you all, but our time will go further than just playing. Here is what awaits us.
Love all of you “
Lin played nine seasons in the NBA. He started his career at the Golden State Warriors before enjoying a Breakout season with the New York Knicks. Lin then played for the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors.
Lin has played for teams in China and Taiwan in recent years.
