Founder Jeff Bezos of Amazon predicts that millions will live in space in the next two decades, according to the Financial Times. The billionaire appeared on Friday a rare public performance at the Italian tech week in Turin, where he shared his daring vision of the future of humanity outside the earth.

Bezos said besides John Elkann, heir of the Agnelli family, that people will someday live in space because they choose, not because they have to. He explained that robots will handle manual labor, while gigantic AI-driven data centers will work to work to support the job to support human life and interplanetary industry.

Bezos’s comments came in response to his old space trial, Elon Musk, who also predicted large -scale spatial settlements. Musk suggests that a million people live on Mars in 2050, while Bezos presents huge orbital habitats as a more practical form of colonization.

Bezos defended the rapid increase in artificial intelligence and called the current AI investment wave a ‘positive bubble’, in which it described as ‘industrial’ instead of ‘financial’. He emphasized that this tree would accelerate innovation in several sectors, including space exploration.

“There has never been a better time to be enthusiastic about the future,” Bezos concluded, so that the audience in Turin is considering his ambitious prediction. Whether millions will live in space by 2045 is still to be seen, but Bezos’s optimism suggests that AI and robotics can make that vision rather than expected.
