The FCA Canada lawsuit claims that jeeps suddenly switch from hybrid/electric modes to modes with gas only.

-A jeep grand cherokee 4xe action action rights store from 2023-2025 in Canada claims that the hybrid vehicles suddenly switch from electric or hybrid modes.

This ensures that the Jeeps lose forward propulsion without any warnings to Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe drivers.

The Class Action says that the Jeep Grand Cherokee can be operated 4xe in three different modes.

  • E-save mode that is only gas mode

  • Hybrid mode that uses both the gas motor and high -voltage mode

  • Electric mode, which only uses the electric high -voltage battery

The Jeep has three buttons for a driver to choose which mode they want, but as soon as the vehicle switches in the gasoline mode, a driver has to switch off the jeep and restart to switch back to the hybrid/electric mode.

The lawsuit claims that the problem is caused by defective hardware and software that the Jeep leaves without gear without acceleration until the jeep shifts in the gas -all -mode mode.

The problem would take place while driving, even if you try to accelerate from a stop. This is clearly a serious safety risk, even when accelerating, changing lane, catching up/passing another vehicle, avoiding obstacles or debris, avoiding an oncoming vehicle, avoiding a pedestrian, avoiding an animal, etc. “

The problem forces Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe owners to pay more for gasoline, something that no owner does not want to do, given that they have bought a hybrid vehicle to save on fuel costs.

The plaintiff complains that no diagnostic problem code has been set in a jeep who experiences the problem, making it difficult for a dealer to diagnose problems. Jeep owners would reportedly try to describe how the vehicles are switched from hybrid modes, but dealers will not carry out repairs because they cannot see a problem.

If Fiat Chrysler dealers try to work on the Jeep 4XE vehicles, owners can be provided that only receive gas loender or rental vehicles, so that more fuel costs are added for owners.

“Despite the fact that he knows the serious security risks of the defect, FCA continues to sell and lease the subject vehicles to the claimant and class members without making the defect known, and the defendants have still not yet tackled the main cause of the defect.” – FCA Canada Class Action -Rechtszaak

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe right store was brought in the Superior Court of Quebec: Mk v. FCA Canada Inc., et Al.

The plaintiff is represented by Lex Group Inc.
