The Utah Jazz had a garage sale on their veterans this season outside the season Lauri Markkanen. They sold John Collins and Collin Sexton for much less than they are worth, and Jordan Clarkson dumped immediately. This had many to believe that Lauri Markkanen is the following, but not only is that not the case, there is a good thing to make that keeping marketes a good move because of what it could make for the youth of jazz.
Some would believe that Markkanen stand in the way alone, but Wosny Lambre explained well -speaking “The Kevin O’Connor Show”Why are they staying a jazz man is good for their young talent.
“This guy is a great player. The idea that you would not want this guy to rebuild next to your young boys you are trying to rebuild. I am actually a believer that there must be a basic level of competencies, even if you rebuilt. This idea that your playing time spends as a candy at Halloween … no, you have to earn your playing time.
“And the only way to actually do that is to surround the young boys with competence, which means they have to compete for their playing time, and I think Lauri Markkanen is only justified for that.”
It’s true. Not much motivates a young player better than knowing that there is a bar to erase. The place of Markkans on the Roster not only gives the youth a veteran to look up, but he also shows them that if they want to get minutes, they have to defeat him.
Markkanen does not come from the best season with Utah, but the fact that there were absolutely no rumors in which it was involved most of the low season – who did not stop trading proposals to the left and right – shows Utah’s confidence that he will be back to what he was earlier.
The question is whether Utah will still believe that Markkanen is a lot for a long time
So although all the indications are that for more reasons, for more reasons, Markkans will be in Utah at least next season, for more reasons than just what he can do on the floor, the Jazz will have to start to ask itself if the best option is to keep Markkans in the long term.
Although keeps him in the neighborhood, it is probably what is best to develop the youth well, it can take a while before they pick themselves out. It is impossible to say where Markkans will be when they start to pop. If they begin to surpass him in due course, then that would give the jazz less stimulus to keep him.
That is of course all hypothetical, but it is a possibility. Everyone should now know that Utah is holding his only star on the Roster, but it may not be too drastic to drive the idea that as soon as the youth is well developed, that might be the exact time they exchange Markkans.
