Chicago – Jazz Chisholm Jr. Went 28 games without playing completely and then another 39 without stealing a basis.

And yet Yankees’s second Honkman hits and runs its way to a potential 30-30 season.

For the time being, Chishholm has protected a season with 26 home runs and 25 Steals, after Friday evening to sweep another bag, making him the sixth player in the history of Yankees to reach a 25-25 season.

Chisholm joined former Yankees Curtis Granderson (41 HRs, 25 SBs in 2011), Alex Rodriguez (36 HRs, 28 SBs in 2004), Alfonso Soriano (39 HRs, 41 SBs in 2002 and 38 HRs, 25 SBs in 2003), Rickey Henderson (28 HRs, 87 SBs in 1986) and Bobby Bonds (32 HRS, 30 SBS in 1975) in the 25-25 club.

There have only been 72 30-30 seasons in the history of the game three of them from Yankees (two from Soriano and one by Bonds)-Waardoor Chishholm gets the chance to add Select Company during the last month of the season.

That is despite the missing of the entire month of May with a sloping tribe and then from 11 June July-22 with only two stolen basic attempts, which none of them were successful.

He played the majority of that piece due to a groin problem, but has since made up for lost time, a perfect 15-out-15 in his previous 27 games that play on Saturday.

For the most part, Chisholm’s talent has shown through it since he joined the Yankees at the Handelsdeadline last summer, even if there have been some bumps on the way.

In his first 149 games as a Yankee, he had closed 37 home runs with 43 steals, leading manager Aaron Boone to call him a “40-40 caliber player”.

Chisholm is different from someone else in the Yankeese schedule, both in terms of his combination of strength and speed and his eclectic personality.

“Carefree, interesting,” said Boone.

“What do the children like to say; he has aura? … A lot of SWAG. We have regulated the SWAG in part of the SWAG, but I love the Thuis Run -Druf. The most important thing is that he fits in. He brings a different element to the ball park every day. He has been super productive.”

That is of course what it ultimately comes down to, especially at this point in the season with the Yankees who try to chase a play -off place and perhaps even the division if they can prove that they can consistently defeat other teams than the Droesem of the competition.

Unlike most of his teammates, Chisholm is not shy to look ahead.

He said on Thursday evening that the Yankees not only try to claim a Wild-Card spot in the American League, but that they already want to win East.

“We are never satisfied with second place or third place,” he said. “We just lost the World Series last year, that is second place and we were still not satisfied. I don’t think we will be satisfied with the second or third in the division. That would be even more upset than losing the World Series. So now we just go outside and going. [the division] And then we will win the World Series. “

How Chisholm performs at the point can have a hand in that.

The resident of the Bahamas is an emotional player who can work to his advantage or against him, depending on how he channeled it.

But he has benefited from being in a clubhouse with a handful of veterans to help him.

“It’s sick to have this group of veterans in the area,” said Chisholm. “Not many guys get this, so I’m grateful for it.”
