This NBA outside season is full of reunions, in particular, Damian Lillard Re-Joining the Portland Trail Blazers. It appears that the Utah Jazz came in because they brought back Georges Niang for the drizzly price of RJ Luis Jr. Some can roll their eyes to this movement, but it appears that the Jazz Niang does not return for sentimental purposes, but also for veteran leadership.
Tony Jones of the athletics confirmed that Utah brought back Niang for his experienced presence. Not only that, but Niang has welcomed his reunion with Utah.
Jazz acts for Niang to let him play and add a veteran to their young core. The two parties have spoken, say sources, and Niang is happy and excited to be back in Utah

Niang has developed the reputation as a good veteran -presence for winning teams. That stretches over his time with jazz because he was a rotation player for the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers during their play -off runs from 2022 to 2024.
Although Utah this season has separated with his experienced veterans, they did not make their selection entirely about the youth. The jazz definitely has an exciting young talent, but that can all be for nothing if they are not well developed. Although they should have more than enough time to sort out themselves, it can have a veteran -such as Niang have an important role in achieving their potential.
The story of Niang with jazz is a good template for them to follow. The NBA career of Niang hung on a thread when Utah brought him in in 2018. From there, Niang developed into one of the best three-point shutters in the NBA and became a rotation player in several jazz playoff teams.
He is a fantastic example of someone who has worked himself off the ground to become the player he is. With that example in the dressing room, the young people from Jazz were able to learn a lot from him.
Niang is not the only experienced presence in the dressing room
Returning Niang might have been about bringing a solid presence of veterance to the grid, but he is not the only jazz man who was brought in to influence the young person. After the jazz had taken over for Collin Sexton, Jusuf Nurkic revealed during his introductory press conference that he believes that he too can show their young talent of bringing a pro.
One may wonder why Utah the trio of Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson and John Collins lost in the first place if their plan had a few experienced people in the dressing room. The answer to that is actually fairly simple.
The talent difference between the three veterans they separated with this low season and the two they have acquired is quite substantial. Nurkic and Niang will probably see time, but will not demand as much as Sexton, Clarkson or Collins.
They can be that experienced presence without limiting the time of their young players (or Lauri Markkanen), so that the jazz can have both sides this season. It is not guaranteed whether Niang or Nurkic will be at Jazz all season or last this season, but Utah has smartly added some nice voices that might only help with the youth movement.
