The best of the five Italians in the field was Gregorio De Leo, a 25-year-old from Biella, 21st with a 281 (73 67 74 67, -7), who made up 21 places in the final round with a 67 (-5, one eagle, four birdies, one bogey). This is his third appearance of the new season, having previously finished 14th in Australia.

Jayden Schaper, a 24-year-old from Benoni, a professional since 2020, triumphed again in the play-off, as he did last week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, for a victory that secured him on both circuits. He rebounded from fourth place with a 64 (-8, one eagle, six birdies), tied with Gerard, a 26-year-old from Raleigh, North Carolina, pro since 2022, for a PGA Tour title (Barracuda Championship, 2025). Gerard finished in a tie for first place with South African Casey Jarvis, who finished third with a 271 (-17). The American shot a 66 (-6, six birdies), narrowly avoiding a lead, but was then helpless against Schaper’s eagle, who holed his third shot from the green. He received a check for 174,065 from a prize pool of approximately €1,025,000 (officially $1,200,000).

Norway’s Andreas Halvorsen finished fourth with a score of 272 (-16), South Africa’s Zander Lombard and England’s John Parry, the defending champion, finished fifth with a score of 273 (-15), and Spaniard Manuel Elvira and Frenchman Alexander Levy finished seventh with a score of 274 (-14).

Of the other four Italians, Francesco Laporta, a 35-year-old from Castellana Grotte (BA), was a bit of a mixed performer, but effective. He finished 25th with a score of 282 (71 67 72 72, -6), in his second appearance after leaving the cut in Johannesburg. Renato Paratore, a 29-year-old from Rome, finished 44th with a score of 286 (74 69 68 75, -2), and Andrea Pavan, a 36-year-old from the capital, finished 48th with a score of 297 (73 69 71 74, -1), playing his first money tournament of the three. Stefano Mazzoli, a 28-year-old from Segrate (MI), dropped out halfway through the competition and finished 86th with a score of 147 (78 69, +3).
