Manchester United have significantly improved their attacking performances this season after a dismal run in front of goal last term. The Red Devils finished the 2024/25 season with just 44 goals in 38 Premier League games.
INEOS invested over £200 million in Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha last summer, and the English giants went on to perform excellently in the final third. United have already scored 44 goals in 24 Premier League games this season, the third most in English football’s top flight behind Manchester City (49) and Arsenal (46).
The Red Devils are expected to turn their focus to midfield this summer, with Casemiro set to leave and Manuel Ugarte’s future hanging in the balance. The Brazilian has been indispensable for United of late and they are likely to prioritize a good replacement for the start of next season.
However, a new update suggests the Red Devils could also make a move for a Premier League striker at the end of this season, should the opportunity arise.
United are eyeing Jarrod Bowen
According to TEAMtalk journalist Dean Jones, United could make a move for Jarrod Bowen this summer if West Ham United are relegated. Speaking YouTubeHe said: “West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen will be on the radar as an option to give United another lead if West Ham are relegated.”
The Hammers are 18th in the Premier League after 24 games, six points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest. If they are ultimately dropped to the Championship, Bowen could be tempted to jump ship in search of greener pastures.
A great record in the Premier League
Bowen rose through the ranks at Hereford United before spending six seasons at Hull City. He joined West Ham in January 2020 and has been one of their most important players ever since.
The 29-year-old has registered 64 goals and 40 assists in 224 Premier League appearances so far. This season, Bowen has scored eight goals and netted a further two in 24 league appearances, all of which were starts.

The Englishman is adept at operating on the front line, which also makes him an attractive candidate for United. With Joshua Zirkzee’s future uncertain, the Red Devils could be tempted to invest in the frontline at the end of the season.
Bowen is under contract at the London Stadium until 2030 and under normal circumstances West Ham would have rejected any advance for their main man. However, a possible relegation from the Premier League could change the scenario, especially as it would also have financial consequences.
Final thoughts
Should Bowen become available this summer, United could be tempted to make a move, especially if the transfer suits them financially. The Englishman has previously revealed that he idolized Red Devils legend David Beckham as a child, which could work in the club’s favour.
Expect INEOS to keep a close eye on developments at the London Stadium for the rest of the season.
